The Everly Brothers - Songs

ABOUT

The Everly Brothers were country pop-rock singer-songwriter duo Donald and Philip Everly (January 19, 1939 - January 3, 2014) who became famous in the late 1950s. Their best known songs include "Bye Bye Love" (1957), "Wake Up Little Susie" (1957), "All I Have To Do Is Dream" (1958), "Bird Dog" (1958), and "Cathy's Clown" (1960). They not only charted numerous hits from 1957-1967 on the Pop/Rock charts but also had a string of Country chart hits from 1984-1989.

The Everly Brothers' signature sound came from the sweet harmonic melding of Phil's tenor and Don's baritone and the duo's unique fusion of rock, country, and rockabilly styles. They have been cited as a major influence on many musicians, including such big name bands and artists as Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Simon and Garfunkel.

In 1986, the Everly Brothers were one of the first ten acts to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were also inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. In 1997, they were awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and they have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the Everly Brothers at #33 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Times.
